First established as a frontier fort in
1814, Fort Gaines also served as an Indian fort in 1836 and a
Confederate fort in 1863. You can enjoy reliving history as you
explore the original site of the fort, located on a scenic bluff
overlooking the fabled Chattahoochee River. Adjoining the fort is a
replica frontier village and numerous other historic attractions.
